Seoul museum guide

Seoul works when heritage and contemporary art get separate days

Seoul can make a short museum trip feel scattered if every district is treated as one route. Give Yongsan the National Museum of Korea, keep MMCA Seoul around Samcheong-dong, and save Leeum for a quieter Hannam art day.

Two practical Seoul routes

Route 01

Yongsan first, then stay lighter

  1. Start with the National Museum of Korea.
  2. Use the outdoor area and Yongsan pace as the reset.
  3. Save MMCA Seoul for another day unless the trip is very short.

This works because the national museum is large enough to be a full cultural foundation.

Route 02

MMCA Seoul and Leeum as separate moods

  1. Use MMCA Seoul for a Samcheong contemporary day.
  2. Keep Leeum for Hannam and architecture.
  3. Use late openings only when the day still has energy.

Seoul feels clearer when each art district gets its own purpose.
