This Artiou exhibition guide is a practical entry point for planning a visit to “In the footsteps of Marc Bloch in Paris”, with the key context, venue, and source details in one place.

About the exhibition

On June 23, 2026, Marc Bloch (1886-1944) symbolically entered the Pantheon, alongside his wife Simonne, née Vidal (1894-1944). France thus pays tribute to the courage of this brilliant historian who joined the Resistance in 1943 and was executed by the Germans on June 16, 1944 in Saint-Didier-de-Formans (Ain).

On this occasion, the Paris Archives present a selection of documents from their funds retracing the Parisian years of the pantheonized 84th.
