About the exhibition
For many years, Cecilia Edefalk has had conversations with deceased artists – Hilma af Klint and August Strindberg, among others – which she documents and integrates into her work process. The present exhibition thus reveals the way in which it continues, today and in its own way, the spiritual currents coming from the North. This theme will be the starting point for a tour commented by the artist in dialogue with Daniel Birnbaum.
Daniel Birnbaum is a writer and exhibition curator, living between Stockholm and Paris. He is also professor of philosophy at the Städelschule in Frankfurt. His first novel, Dr B, was published by Gallimard in 2021.
The discussion will be moderated by Sara Arrhenius, curator of the exhibition “August said! » and director of the Swedish Institute.
Sunday May 31 at 4 p.m., Cecilia Edefalk will perform at the Grand Palais as part of the exhibition dedicated to Hilma af Klint.
